SPEAKER: Gerry Tehan

Speaker Profile

Gerry Tehan is the Associate Dean of Sciences at the recently-opened Springfield Campus of the University of Southern Queensland (USQ).

His long association with Singapore began at Informatics as the off-shore coordinator for the Psychology program from 1994, when the first intake of students from informatics were admitted into the Bachelor of Science track, until 2005 when he was asked to develop Psychology on USQ's new campus.

Our USQ program was the first off-shore program to be accredited by the Australian Psychological Society.
The USQ-Informatics partnership has also been instrumental in setting the benchmarks for teaching Psychology in Singapore.

Gerry spends his free time doing research work and has attracted prestigious research grants within the competitive granting system in Australia . He has also contributed to 30 publications and international journals . Gerry is actively involved in the organising committee of International conferences and is a consulting editor for the Journal "Memory and Cognition".
He has particularly researched in the area of aging and sports psychology, but his primary research area remains in memory.
