1) Develop blocks of study time. Many people find that they can concentrate for 50 minutes at a time. Develop one of your own which ends before you become restless.
2) Prioritise assignments. When studying, get in the habit of beginning with the most difficult subject or task before tackling the easier ones.
3) Utilise "dead time". Try to use walking, jogging or cycling moments to study smaller nuggets of information.
4) Review within 24 hours after class.Studies have shown that our brains begin to lose information after 24 hours of receiving them. So, reviewing any study materials within the 24-hour period will optimise memory retention.
5) Assign alternative study places. Switch study environments to make studying more interesting. These places should be free from distractions to maximise concentration. The library is one such place.
