| IFP is a full-time course which offers students a fast track alternative entry route to degree courses. This is the programme that gives you everything you need to plan for success at university level.

This programme is designed:
- to develop the student’s basic mathematical and IT skills, learning strategies, problem solving and critical thinking skills, in order to enhance their performance in both academic and non-academic endeavours
- to enable the students to appreciate the intellectual demands of studying at the tertiary level
- to give the student a solid proficiency in English for preparation into the various areas of studies
On successful completion of the programme, a student should have:
- good computing and mathematical skills to study at a higher level
- communication skills necessary for the recording of empirical research
- independent study and learning skills in retrieving, selecting and processing information, thus enabling students to develop good critical thinking and reasoning skills
- acquired a level of English Language competency appropriate for handling an undergraduate programme

| This is a full-time course. For students who require the full English course, the entire duration is 1 calendar year; they need to attend 15 lecture hours per week. There are 3 terms in 1 year and the structure is as follows:
Term 1: 14 lecture weeks / 1 week of examination / 2 weeks break
Term 2: 14 lecture weeks / 1 week of examination / 2 weeks break
Term 3: 14 lecture weeks / 1 week of examination / 2 weeks break
Classes are taught between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday. Students are recommended to take 2-3 modules per term. |

The structure of the programme is made up of 5 key components conducted on full-time basis:
- learning skills
- critical thinking
- computer applications
- mathematics
- proficiency in english
Field Trips & Campus Activities (Optional)
These trips and activities are organized for students to apply their English Skills in professional and social environments. |

Minimum requirement to enter this programme:
- at least 16 years of age AND,
- ‘N’ / ‘O’ level holders OR,
- high School Certificate OR,
- other equivalent qualifications deemed suitable by Informatics Academy
Qualifying Test
Before students are enrolled into the programme, they are required to take a Thames Placement Test, which is designed to assess their level of proficiency in English. The scores obtained for the test will determine the modules that students need to take. |
