The programme is organised into two stages culminating with the award of the MBA upon completion of all the stages. The programme consists 10 compulsory modules. It is structured around nine taught modules followed by dissertation.

Important Notice:

  • For all UOW-MBA students, you are allowed only ONE ATTEMPT at a failed module.
  • The students must complete Part A (9 modules), before proceeding to the next stage Part B (dissertation). In Part A, the BA609 is the module to be taken at the last, after completing the rest 8 modules which students can attempt to complete in any sequence depending upon the timing of the registration.

  • A Bachelor degree recognised by the University. If the degree is not recognised, candidates will be required to qualify under the terms of mature entry.
  • Non-graduates or Mature students (aged 25 or over) with minimum 2 years working in a position of responsibility of relevance to the scheme of study to be pursued. These applicants will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • Applicants for whom English is a second language must provide evidence of English Proficiency. Either a recognised degree or equivalent qualifications (where the language of instruction is English), or a score of at least 550 (written version) or 213 (computer version) on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or an equivalent IELTS score, or National College English Test (CET) Band 4 & 6, or English Proficiency Test – Level 3 of Informatics Academy

Duration:

Full Time : Between 12 to 16 months*
Part Time /e-Learning / Flexi-Learning: Within 20 months*

*Course duration is dependent on the amount of time taken to complete the dissertation

Programme Delivery:

Full Time/ Part Time: Day / evening classes taught by lecturers with industry-experience
e-Learning: Conducted by lecturers via internet on e-learning platform
Flexi-Learning: Combines the beauty of face-to-face classroom learning and e-Learning

Method of Assessment:

The modules will be assessed based on Coursework (25%), Written Examination (65%) and Participation (10%).

Exams are conducted three times a year, in the months of January, May and September. Students are required to submit the dissertation in order to complete the programme. For the dissertation, 6 months time is provided.
A Board of Examiners meeting decides the final marks. Students who fail a module may be permitted to resubmit the Coursework or to re-sit the module's Written Examinations whilst taking another module. This shall be done at the full discretion of the Academic Members of the Board of Examiners. A student may only resubmit the Coursework and/or resit a Written Examination once*.

*Should a student fail to pass a specific module's Coursework and/or Written Examination after one resit attempt, he/she will be excluded from MBA programme but will be permitted to continue with other modules in the programme to be eligible for a Post Graduate Certificate
